Kate Towers and Fieldwork share a workshop; it's taken us a month to announce this. Kate occupies the mezzanine of workshop & boutique 'Cape' at the far West End of Ford Building. And we have fun.

Last week I caught myself before Kate's rack of newly constructed garments feeling highly inspired by her selection of texture and print. It didn't occur to me until several days later that Kate's talents would pair nicely with Fieldwork's abstracted Holiday wreath. I pitched the idea, she went for it, and these are our first three which are available for purchase at 'Open for Business', at The Cleaners. $40.

Fieldwork's wreaths are built by hand which doesn't mean custom orders take a week, just one day. Currently Kate's fancy bow-like objects are made of organic Felt, colors vary so please inquire.

Fine, I'll part with my Holiday leftovers and Spiced Wine this Friday for a day of shop and prep. Two things are happening this weekend that I'd like to mention: Open For Business, a collaborative sale featuring a handful of radical local talents who are selling their picks at The Cleaners all weekend beginning Friday, and, the opening of The Woodsman Market.

Fieldwork, being an OFB vendor, will provide custom wreaths accompanied by bows sewn by the great Kate Towers, Plants in pouches on Birch plaques, miniature White ceramic Cloche objects, et cetera. Come. Come. Come. Come. Come. Come. Come. Come. Come.

And, Saturday calls for scattered showers. I will definitely begin my day with brunch at The Woodsman Tavern directly after setting up Fieldwork's pretty flower cart at The Woodsman Market next door. New to SE 45th and Division, The Woodsman Market, a place of nice cheese and meat and beer and flowers and the things that really matter. I'd love to see some familiar faces regularly as I take on Fieldwork's first flower stand. Tossed bouquets all week. Please visit the cutest block in Portland.

Meet Pink Slip Jam, a condiment that I consider superlative to all others with the exception of Dijon. Suzanne Fuoco is the scientist behind PSJ and she's concocting what some might consider a lifetime of knowledge reduced into a mason jar and disguised as some unidentifiable color which, I'll have you know, initiated my most recent visit to the NARS counter of Blush Beauty Bar. However, had I not felt the pressure to conform last Thursday afternoon, you too could have potentially witnessed my lips pouting under 'In The Pink'. Suzanne is imploding with experience and sweet memories that inspire her complex ingredient selection: Berries, Bourbon, Peony Blossom, Scented Geranium. We moved, again. Fieldwork now occupies the far west end of Ford Building on S.E. Division and 10th. Below the 'CAPE' sign and through the Red door is Fieldwork's new tree-house-like workshop that allows for a street side display and is a bit more accessible to you. No more waiting for the train and never mind the madness of 11th avenue, navigate around the blocks to utilize 10th instead. Visit Mother's Day weekend for Fieldwork's first Division street floral display, and bring me a cookie. Thank you.

But Wednesday I love. See, really, I struggle to differentiate Monday from Thursday or Saturday from Tuesday. Friday and Sunday are actually very similar to me as well. Six similar days: I cavort about, whistling and giggling and wiggling and conceptualizing. A playful profession deserves a playful conductor. Play, play, play, play, play, play, work.

On Wednesdays I work, hosting Fieldwork's midday market from noon-4 and I love it. Pop in and see/shop Fieldwork's bulk collection of flowers from local farmers. Thank you.

A jumpsuit-like, unkempt uniform: my paint splattered jeans and over-sized sweatshirt. Today marks the first day, in seven, that I will not routinely wear garbage. And I will steam the white residual paint from my coif.
I've selected a presumably appropriate dress for this afternoon. It's peach. So is my lip-stick, my nail polish and my handbag. Given the temperate weather forecast, I intend to achieve my arranged attire, regardless of any unexpected springtime cloudburst or torrent.
...ah...What might make more sense is to announce the purpose of last week's disheveled appearance. Fieldwork has completed an anticipated project: the floral operation has relocated to the first floor of The Ford. Now occupying no. 106, here we hope to be more accessible to you and gain a bit more exposure. A few words: White, Peach, big, Olo, vintage, vintage, modern, garden, pretty.
